1989 Where it all began…
The company was started by Glenn Minto initially as a sole trader, supplying Joinery Services to principal contractors around the Northwest of England. Within a few months Glenn employed his first apprentice Joiner. Working out of Glenn’s garage and small bedroom office, Mint Joinery and Building was created as a trading name with our very first logo.
1993 New Premises…
We rented our first office space in Pemberton, Wigan which provided a more professional approach and image. Our first office administrator started, improving our customer services through better communication from our new office.
1995 Expansion…
Over the next few years working in partnership with Architects and Surveyors providing the same high quality service, we relocated into new larger premises at Hindley Business Centre.
1996 Development…
Over the next four years we continued with controlled growth providing our team with the training and time needed to provide our customers with a quality job every time.
2000 First specialist needs client…
We were asked for support in providing a purpose built ground floor extension suitable for a special needs client. Working together with Client, Architect and Builder we designed and built an extension to suit the clients sleeping, bathing and access needs which made it easier for the client and family to manage their lives.
2001 Specialist needs market…
Over the next few years we developed new customer and supplier relationships, focusing on a new special needs market. Our reputation exploded in the market, building quality customer relationships with local authorities based on our experience and customer service skills. We also received a bonus from seeing clients improve from their new adapted living environment.
2002 Company Re-branding…
In 2002 we re-branded our company and logo as we were now beginning to be noticed as a specialist adaptation company through our quality workmanship, service and word of mouth from our customers. New career opportunities were created with our bathroom division, services to include the supply and fit of low level access showers and wet rooms.
2004 Incorporated…
With the continuous growth, Mint Joinery and Building was incorporated and the company would now be called Mint Joinery and Building Ltd.
2006 Further Expansion…
We relocated to Unit 5 Rosebridge Court, Ince, Wigan with a strong skilful team of around twenty full time staff. Constantly trying to improve our standards we created our electrical and plumbing divisions. These divisions brought all our trades together under one roof and made the process more efficient and controlled.
2006 Next four years…
Rapid growth over the next four years was achieved; our warehouse was developed to store our fast moving products. Being able to pass our discounts for bulk buying onto our customers gave us the competitive edge.
2008 Investors in People
Together as a team, we achieved the Investors in People award.
2010 New company name…
Due to our rapid growth, in 2010 the team made the decision to change the company name to Mint Northwest Ltd with new corporate branding being designed.
2013 Further growth and new premises…
Due to further growth, the team made the decision to move to a larger unit. We moved into Unit 1 Rosebridge Court, Ince, Wigan.
Present…
